In the first eleven months of 2024, BYD sold 3.76 million cars worldwide, with 506,804 units sold in November alone.
While a significant portion of BYD's success has been in China—accounting for 90% of total sales—there is also impressive growth in the UK market.
Year-to-date, BYD has seen an astonishing 730.50% sales increase in the UK, rising from 895 units in November 2023 to 7,433 in November 2024. Although this represents just 0.41% of the market share, BYD outperforms other manufacturers such as Smart (0.11%), Subaru (0.12%), Ora (0.06%), and Omoda (0.16%), trailing just behind Jeep (0.46%).
Looking forward, BYD aims to deliver between 5 million and 6 million cars in 2025, positioning itself among the world's leading automaker groups, including Stellantis.
In the UK, BYD currently has three models available - the BYD Dolphin, the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD Seal. 2025 will see the introduction of the BYD Sealion 7, and there are rumours that the BYD YangWang brand could also enter the UK market should the European launch be successful.
