More than 70% of the world’s leading corporate fleets added no new petrol or diesel vehicles last year, highlighting how quickly electric vehicles are becoming the new standard for businesses.
The latest EV100 Progress and Insights Report from Climate Group found that one in five members has already electrified more than half of its entire fleet. AstraZeneca, for example, has transitioned over 80% of its 22,000 vehicles to electric, achieving fully electric fleets across 37 markets.
Together, EV100 members have avoided almost three million tonnes of CO₂e emissions since joining the initiative. They have also installed more than 48,500 charging units across 6,000 locations worldwide.
From Trial to Everyday Business Use
The findings show that electric vehicles are no longer simply being trialled. Businesses are integrating them into everyday operations to reduce emissions, lower running costs and protect themselves against changing fuel prices.
At Lease Electric, we understand that experiencing an EV first-hand can make the transition much easier. That is why we launched our Volkswagen ID. Buzz corporate demonstration initiative.
The Lease ElectricID. Buzz gives Gloucestershire businesses the opportunity to experience electric driving in a real working environment. Whether it is used for meetings, site visits or everyday business journeys, the extended demonstration helps organisations understand how an EV could fit into their fleet before making a longer-term commitment.
