About Polestar
Polestar is a Swedish brand specialising in fully electric cars. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Polestar offers its vehicles online across 27 markets worldwide.
By 2026, Polestar aims to have a lineup of five fully electric cars. Already, the line up includes the Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and the Polestar 4. Upcoming models include the Polestar 5, an electric four-door GT, and the Polestar 6, an electric roadster.
The Polestar 0 project represents the company’s ambitious target of producing a truly climate-neutral vehicle by 2030. This initiative seeks to encourage employees, suppliers, and the broader automotive sector to strive for zero emissions.
What is the Polestar 4?
Following the success of the Polestar 2, Polestar has launched the Polestar 3 and now the Polestar 4. The Polestar 4 seeks to merge the sleek aerodynamics of a coupé with the spaciousness of an SUV. It is built on the Geely SEA platform, variations of which also serve as the foundations for the Volvo EX30 and Smart #1.
Featuring either a Rear motor or Dual motor, combined with a robust 102kWh battery pack, the Polestar 4 boasts a range of up to 379 miles (WLTP) for the rear-driven variant and up to 360 miles (WLTP) for the Dual motor version. The Single motor variant delivers 268bhp, achieving 0-62mph in 7.1 seconds, while the Dual motor AWD model boasts 536bhp, enhancing the sprint time to an impressive 3.8 seconds.
Both '4' models utilise DC fast charging at up to 200kW, enabling them to recharge from 10 to 80% in just half an hour at rapid public chargers.
Notably, it features the lowest carbon footprint of all Polestar vehicles to date. According to the company's life cycle assessment, the 'Long range Single motor' version generates 19.9 tCO2e, over its lifetime, while the 'Long range Dual motor' version increases that figure to 21.4 tCO2e.
Size
Developed on Geely Holding's premium Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the Polestar 4 is a D-segment SUV coupé. Its overall dimensions include a length of 4,840 mm, a width of 2,139 mm, and a height of 1,534 mm, comparable to models such as the Porsche Macan, BYD Seal, and Tesla Model Y.
Review

At Fleet Procure Live, the Polestar 4 captured our attention with its striking gold exterior. Whilst the Polestar 4 was unable to take to the track and be driven, the Lease Electric team have written a short review about what we have seen so far.
The exterior boasted slim split lights, retractable door handles, and a camera replacing the rear window to improve rear headroom and passenger comfort. This demo also featured large 22-inch performance wheels, with gold brake callipers. The Polestar 4, continues to use the brand's distictive styling, available in 6 colours: Snow, Magnesium, Electron, Storm, Space and Gold.
The Polestar 4 maintains the brands minimalist Scandi aesthetic but introduces a landscape-format centre screen. The 15.4-inch display paired with a 10.2-inch digital driver's instrument display. The screen is easy to use and shortcuts can be saved to the main screen. However only the volume control remains on the centre console, requiring use of the screen and steering wheel controls for other functions.
Although the rear window has been substituted with a camera, the interior ‘mirror’ looks no different to a standard mirror. The camera offers a clear perspective of what’s behind, we didn't have any noteable blind spots and believe drivers are unlikely to take long to adjust to this change.
By removing the rear window, Polestar's designers managed to put the rear seats deeper into the cabin, resulting in generous legroom for passengers. The large panoramic roof brings in plenty of natural light, making the cabin feel bright and airy even without the rear window. Our favourite feature in the back, the electric recling seats which are easily and quickly heated.
Overall, we were truly impressed with the Polestar 4; its a luxury electric vehicle that was incredibly comfortable. With its Scandinavian-inspired minimalism, it also showcased remarkable features that were seamlessly integrated and user-friendly. Although we were initially sceptical about the gold colour, we were pleasantly surprised by its appearance in person at Fleet Procure Live.
We can't wait to test the Polestar 4 on the road!
