The new initative from GWM ORA UK will enhance the brand's environmental commitment by reducing unnecessary battery waste caused by a lack of technical information or the perception that repairs are impossible.
A dedicated technical team, referred to as the ‘mobile battery inspection team’ based in the UK, will deliver field based assistance, providing manufacturer guidance on the condition , safety and repair options for traction batteries following customer accidents.
The goal of this initiative is to minimise battery wastage from minor accidents that only result in cosmetic damage to the vehicle. GWM ORA's technical specialists will assess the battery's status, arrange safe transportation if needed, and refurbish it to meet manufacturer standards.
The new initiative has been implemented quickly and can be accessed now via the GWM ORA UK aftersales team.
This initiative aligns well with the brand's growing green credentials. in August 2023, GWM ORA's ORA 03, received high praise from Green NCAP, an independent testing program that evaluates vehicles based on their efficiency and environmental impact. The ORA 03 (previously named the Funky Cat) scored an average of 97%, securing a 5-star Green rating.
There are currently just two ORA 03 Models in the UK available in the UK:
