Flexible cargo and crew configurations

Kia has expanded its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range with the introduction of the PV5 Crew, a new conversion variant designed to support both passenger and cargo operations.

Based on the PV5 Cargo L2/H1, the PV5 Crew enables rapid, tool-free switching between a two-seat cargo layout and a five-seat crew configuration, supporting businesses with varied daily operational needs.

Tool-free conversion

The PV5 Crew features a one-touch seat lever system that allows operators to transition between configurations in seconds.

A single lever releases the recliner, folds the seat cushion, and slides the partition, enabling a seamless changeover without tools or vehicle downtime.

Designed for mixed-use applications

The interior integrates an L-track mounting system and is equipped with 8 lashing points on the bulkhead, allowing cargo and equipment to be secured efficiently.

Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlets in the cargo area and a durable, non-slip floor to support safer loading and unloading.

Factory-integrated conversion approach

The PV5 Crew is part of Kia’s ‘Made In Plant’ (MIP) conversion strategy, with vehicle modifications completed directly within Kia production facilities.

Developed in collaboration with conversion partners, this approach delivers higher integration quality and increased flexibility compared to traditional aftermarket solutions.

Market-specific conversion options will also be available, enabling further adaptation of PV5 Cargo models into crew configurations.

Built on proven PBV platform

The PV5 Crew is based on the PV5 Cargo L2/H1, recipient of the 2026 International Van of the Year (IVOTY) award, and built on Kia’s E-GMP.S platform.

This architecture supports durability, modularity, and advanced connectivity, including integration with fleet management systems.

Key specifications include:

  • Cargo volume: 2.4m³ to 3.7m³
  • Load length: 1,278mm (five-seat) to 1,965mm (two-seat)
  • Target payload: 625kg

The vehicle is equipped with a 51.5kWh battery, delivering up to 175miles of estimated all-electric range (WLTP, pending).

Availability

Production of the PV5 Crew is scheduled to begin at the end of April 2026. With UK availability will be confirmed at a later date.
