Later this year, the UK is poised to welcome Suzuki's e-Vitara, marking the brand's entry into the fully electric vehicle segment. This all-electric SUV is an evolution of the beloved Vitara, known for its rugged reliability.
The e-Vitara is designed to provide drivers with a fully electric alternative to the Vitara, merging style, intelligence, practicality, and cutting-edge technology. Notably, certain variants will come with 4WD, appealing to customers who have traditionally opted for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
From the outset, UK drivers will have the option to choose from five distinct specifications. The e-Vitara offers a battery choice between 49kWh and 61kWh, boasting WLTP ranges of up to 264 miles. Performance starts at 106kW (144PS) and reaches up to 135kW (181PS) with the ALLGRIP-e 4WD variant,an advanced twin-motor system built on Suzuki’s 55 years of expertise in all-wheel drive technology.
Advanced 4WD Capabilities
The ALLGRIP-e system provides true dual-motor control for optimal traction and precision across all terrains, making the e-Vitara one of the few electric vehicles in the compact SUV class to offer a genuine 4x4 option.
Range and Charging
The 49 kWh version provides approximately 200 miles of real-world range, with charging times of 5 to 7 hours on AC (11 kW) and 45 to 55 minutes through DC (up to 50 kW). The 61 kWh 2WD models can achieve up to 225 miles of range, while the AWD variants offer slightly less, around 190 miles, due to the added weight. All 61 kWh models support 11 kW AC charging (taking 6 to 9 hours) and can utilise DC rapid charging up to 70 kW, reaching 10 to 80% in roughly 45 minutes.
Interior
Inside, the e-Vitara features dual 10-inch digital displays, ambient interior lighting, wireless smartphone integration, and an optional Harman Infinity audio system, all set within a modern, spacious cabin built on Suzuki’s EV-first HEARTECT-e platform.
Suzuki Granted
In response to increasing demand and the phasing out of the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, Suzuki has introduced Suzuki Granted,a self-funded initiative that offers customers up to £3,750 off the complete e-Vitara range.
