New Urban-Focused L1/H1 Electric Van

Kia has strengthened its position in the electric van market with the launch of the new PV5 Cargo L1/H1, a compact addition to its award-winning all-electric commercial vehicle range.

Designed specifically for businesses operating in towns and cities, the new model joins the existing PV5 Cargo line-up alongside a series of MY27 upgrades that improve comfort, practicality and everyday usability for drivers and fleet operators.

For businesses considering the switch to electric, the latest additions make the Kia PV5 an even more compelling proposition.

A Compact Electric Van Built for Urban Businesses

Not every business needs the largest van possible. For many operators, particularly those working in urban environments, manoeuvrability can be just as important as load space.

That's exactly where the new Kia PV5 Cargo L1/H1 fits in.

Measuring 200mm shorter than the existing L2 model, the L1/H1 has been designed to tackle city streets, tight parking spaces and busy delivery routes while still offering a practical 4.0m³ cargo capacity.

Whether you're running a last-mile delivery operation, managing a service fleet or working as a mobile tradesperson, the smaller footprint delivers the flexibility needed to navigate congested urban environments without sacrificing productivity.

Up to 243 Miles of Electric Range

The new PV5 Cargo L1/H1 is available with two battery options:

Standard Range

  • 51.5kWh battery

  • Up to 177 miles WLTP range

Long Range

  • 71.2kWh battery

  • Up to 243 miles WLTP range

Despite its smaller dimensions, the L1/H1 actually benefits from a slight increase in payload capacity compared with its larger sibling, offering up to 800kg payload in selected configurations.

For many businesses, this combination of range, payload and compact dimensions could prove to be the ideal balance between efficiency and practicality.

MY27 Updates Bring Greater Comfort and Usability

Alongside the introduction of the L1/H1, Kia has rolled out several MY27 enhancements across the entire PV5 Cargo range.

These updates focus on improving the driver's experience and making the vehicle even more practical for day-to-day operations.

Key upgrades include:

  • Standard driver lumbar support

  • Multi-position driver's armrest on two-seat models

  • New composite bulkhead for improved cabin refinement

  • Walk Away Lock functionality

  • Slimline roof antenna reducing vehicle height to under 1.9 metres

  • Three-seat layout becoming standard on selected Cargo L2/H1 models

While these may seem like small changes individually, together they contribute to a more comfortable and user-friendly working environment for drivers spending long hours behind the wheel.

Kia PV5 Cargo Pricing

One of the most attractive aspects of the new PV5 Cargo range is its competitive pricing.

The entry-level PV5 Cargo L1/H1 Essential Standard Range starts from £27,355 (+VAT), making it one of the most accessible electric vans in its class.

Better still, every PV5 Cargo model qualifies for the Government's Zero Emission Van Grant (ZEVG), reducing on-the-road costs by up to £5,000.

Model Range (WLTP) Price (+VAT)
Essential SR 177 miles £27,355
Essential LR 243 miles £29,855

Meanwhile, the larger PV5 Cargo L2/H1 remains available from £28,355 (+VAT) and offers up to 258 miles of WLTP range in Long Range specification.

Flexible Options for Every Business

Kia continues to offer a range of factory-fit options, allowing businesses to tailor the PV5 to their operational requirements.

Available options include:

  • Premium Paint (£625 + VAT)

  • Additional sliding side door via the four-door configuration (£355 + VAT)

  • Heat Pump on Plus Long Range models (£650 + VAT)

Orders for the updated MY27 range open from 8 June 2026, with first UK customer deliveries expected from October.

Every PV5 is also covered by Kia's industry-leading seven-year / 100,000-mile warranty, while the high-voltage battery receives separate eight-year coverage for added peace of mind.

Kia's Bigger Vision for Electric Commercial Vehicles

The PV5 is only the beginning of Kia's ambitious Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy.

Built around electrification, connectivity and vehicle adaptability, Kia's PBV ecosystem is designed to give businesses greater flexibility through purpose-built electric commercial vehicles.

The manufacturer has already confirmed plans for the larger PV7 in 2027 and PV9 in 2029, while additional PV5 variants, including the recently revealed high-roof L2/H2 model, are expected to arrive later this year.
