Supported by Stellantis, Leapmotor, headquartered in Hangzhou, is gearing up to launch in the UK later this year with two new electric vehicles: the T03 and the C10.

The T03, a compact all-electric city car, is set to compete directly with the Dacia Spring. Orders for the T03 are expected to open in October, with initial deliveries anticipated in December. Priced at £15,995, the T03 positions itself between the Dacia Spring Expression and the Extreme variant. It will also compete with the BYD Seagull, scheduled to launch in 2025, in the UK.

Equipped with a powertrain entirely developed by Leapmotor, the T03 features a 37.3kWh battery that offers a range of 165 miles. Leapmotor suggests that the battery will be continuously monitored through a cloud-based system to ensure optimal temperature management.

With dimensions of 3,620mm in length and 1,652mm in width, the T03 is both shorter and narrower than the Spring, although it stands taller by 61mm at 1,577mm.

The T03's charging capabilities peak at 48kW, enabling a charge from 30 to 80 percent in just 36 minutes, while a full recharge takes roughly 3.5 hours.

Key features of the T03 include a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade, an eight-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, satellite navigation, voice control, 4G connectivity, and air conditioning.

Models available in the UK will be produced in Europe, likely at the Stellantis plant in Poland, which also manufactures the Jeep Avenger, Alfa Romeo Junior, and Fiat 600.

C10

Joining the compact T03 is the C10, an all-electric mid-size SUV scheduled for release in October, with first deliveries also expected in December.

Measuring 4,739mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,680mm in height, the C10 is comparable to the BMW iX3.

Like the T03, the C10 will launch with a single powertrain and equipment package. Its 69.9kWh battery provides a range of 261 miles, as tested under WLTP conditions. Although the maximum recharge rate is not specified, Leapmotor suggests that charging from 30 to 80 percent should take around 30 minutes.

Initially, the C10 will feature a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 218bhp and 320Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in merely 7.3 seconds.

The exterior design showcases smooth lines, with flush-fitting door handles and subtle wheel arches. A full-width LED light bar adorns both the front and rear, while the SUV's silhouette presents a classic appearance with a slightly raised bonnet.

Inside, the C10 embraces a minimalist aesthetic. The steering wheel includes scroll buttons to manage the 14.6-inch central touchscreen and 10.25-inch driver’s display, with physical buttons limited to window controls. The dashboard is straightforward, featuring a long horizontal air vent strip, two cup holders, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The gear selector is conveniently located on the steering wheel column, and above, an electric sunshade complements the panoramic sunroof.

The boot capacity stands at 435 litres with the rear seats up and expands to 1,410 litres when folded down.

The initial launch version of the C10 will include 20-inch alloy wheels, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, a 360-degree panoramic camera, a 12-speaker sound system, a powered tailgate, and a heated steering wheel.
