Mazda has announced UK pricing and specifications for the all-new Mazda6e, confirming its arrival in UK this summer. The Mazda6e marks the return of the Mazda6 nameplate as a fully electric vehicle, offered with a single 78kWh battery and a two-grade line-up: Takumi and Takumi Plus.
The model combines premium saloon styling with five-door hatchback practicality, reimagining the Mazda6 for the electric era, to deliver a combined WLTP range of up to 348 miles.
Design
The Mazda6e is designed under the concept ‘Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection’ and represents the next evolution of Mazda’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy. Smooth surfaces, flowing lines and bold proportions give the vehicle a strong yet refined presence.
A low roofline and short-deck coupe silhouette create a sporty profile while retaining everyday usability. Frameless doors and a distinctive lighting signature contribute to a modern exterior appearance.
At the front, an illuminated signature wing surrounds the grille, providing a unique visual identity. Dynamic lighting animations indicate charging status when the vehicle is plugged in. In profile, parallel character lines and sculpted lower door surfaces enhance the sense of motion.
At the rear, a full-width horizontal taillight bar mirrors the front lighting design. Mazda lettering replaces the traditional rear badge, while an electronically extendable rear spoiler enhances both styling and stability at higher speeds. The Mazda6e rides on 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels designed to improve efficiency.
Interior
The interior of the Mazda6e is designed to create a calm and spacious environment inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Ma’, which emphasises simplicity and space. A panoramic roof allows natural light to flood the cabin, enhancing the open feel.
A floating centre console and instrument panel contribute to the light and uncluttered layout. Premium materials are used throughout both trim levels. Takumi models feature black or stone Maztex™ artificial leather upholstery, while Takumi Plus models offer tan Nappa leather with artificial suede cloth woven seat trim.
The driver-focused cockpit includes a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and an augmented reality head-up display.
Performance
The Mazda6e features a rear-wheel-drive electric powertrain producing 258ps and 290Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0–62mph in 7.9 seconds, delivering smooth and responsive performance.
Chassis, suspension, steering and braking systems have been tuned to suit UK driving conditions, ensuring a balanced and engaging driving experience.
Range and Charging
The UK specification Mazda6e is equipped with a single 78kWh LFP battery, simplifying the range while balancing performance, range and charging efficiency.
The battery delivers a combined WLTP range of up to 348 miles. Rapid DC charging capability allows a 10–80 per cent charge in 24 minutes using a 195kW charger, supporting convenient long-distance travel.
