The electric GLC is the first in a brand-new line up of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, combining the manufacturer’s legendary reliability and sophistication with a cutting-edge electric drive system and intelligent onboard software.
Five distinct UK specifications will be available at launch, Sport, AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus, and Premier Edition, offering drivers a tailored experience that perfectly balances design, comfort, and performance.
Performance and Range
At launch, the electric GLC will debut as the GLC 400 4MATIC, producing a remarkable 489 hp and capable of travelling up to 406 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
The model’s dual-motor setup , one on each axle ,delivers precise all-wheel drive capability, while a two-speed transmission on the rear drive unit maximises both acceleration and efficiency. From 0 to 62 mph takes just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 130 mph.
The electric GLC doesn’t just move quickly, it moves intelligently. With AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering (available as part of the Refinement Package), drivers can enjoy an exceptionally smooth and controlled ride.
Mercedes-Benz’s advanced Car-to-X communication allows suspension adjustments based on real-time data from other vehicles, while the new One-Box braking system delivers smooth, regenerative deceleration, enabling up to 99% of braking to be handled by energy recuperation.
Charging
Recharging is just as impressive. The GLC supports DC fast charging up to 330 kW, allowing drivers to regain significant range in minutes at 800-volt stations. For everyday use, 11 kW AC charging comes as standard, with an optional 22 kW AC system for faster charging.
Design
The electric GLC debuts the brand’s new illuminated chrome grille, a modern reinterpretation of Mercedes-Benz’s most iconic design feature. With a smoked-glass mesh structure and integrated lighting, it serves as both an art form and a statement of progress.
The cabin continues this theme of elevated sophistication, blending high-quality materials with minimalist digital design to create a refined, immersive driving space. Options such as the SKY CONTROL Panoramic Roof, featuring up to 162 illuminated stars, ensure that every journey feels truly special.
Inside, sustainable luxury takes centre stage. The Sustainability Package, available at no extra cost on Sport specification, provides a certified vegan interior, a first for Mercedes-Benz, recognised by The Vegan Society.
Tech
At the core of the new GLC is MB.OS, the latest Mercedes-Benz Operating System, capable of 254 trillion operations per second. This AI-powered platform seamlessly manages everything from navigation to comfort settings and driver assistance, learning and adapting with every journey.
Drivers and passengers will also be immersed in a new digital experience thanks to MBUX SUPERSCREEN (standard on Sport) or the stunning 39.1-inch MBUX HYPERSCREEN (from AMG Line Premium upward), the largest ever fitted to a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Together, they create an intelligent, responsive cabin environment designed for connection, clarity, and convenience.
Size and Space
Longer and roomier than its combustion predecessor, the electric GLC offers 520 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,690 litres with the rear seats folded. A 128-litre frunk adds extra practicality for smaller items.
With a towing capacity of 2.4 tonnes, the GLC also proves that electric SUVs can be as versatile as they are refined.
Safety
Safety remains a Mercedes hallmark. The GLC’s passive and active safety systems go beyond regulatory requirements, with features such as PRE-SAFE®, Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Blind Spot Assist, and Traffic Sign Assist fitted as standard. The MB.DRIVE ASSIST digital extra adds semi-autonomous Level 2 functionality, ensuring both driver confidence and comfort.
Pricing and Availability
UK pricing for the new electric GLC starts at £60,350 for the Sport specification, with higher trims introducing even more advanced technologies and luxury features, including the Burmester® 4D Surround Sound System, DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, and climate-controlled massage seats.
Customers can expect deliveries in early 2026, and will soon be able to place their order with Lease Electric.
