The 410-mile business saloon EQE is the second model to be based on the premium-class electric architecture, following the luxury EQS saloon.

The EQE features a sporty 'purpose design' with all the characteristic elements of Mercedes-EQ, one-bow lines and cab-forward design. Mercedes EQE Electric Business Saloon Exterior SideFlush with the outer edge of the body, the 19 to 21-inch wheels, together with a pronounced muscular shoulder section, give the EQE an athletic character. The EQE is also one of the first vehicles to be built with steel from Salzgitter AG, which is 100 percent recycled. This reduces the CO2 emissions in rolled steel production by more than 60 percent.

The battery has a usable energy content of 90 kWh, and the range of up to 410 miles is absolutely suitable for touring. The model range will include two variants at market launch the EQE 350 with 215 kW power output, as well as a second model yet to be disclosed. Performance variants with around 500 kW are being planned. The executive saloon has a rapid charging capacity of up to 170 kW allowing an additional 155 miles of range to be added in 15 minutes.

Mercedes EQE Electric Business Saloon InteriorThe EQE is more compact than the EQS and has a wheelbase that is 90 millimetres shorter. Externally it is comparable to the CLS. Like the latter, it has no tailgate but a fixed rear window and a boot lid. The interior space even clearly exceeds those of today's E-Class. The seating position is higher/more confident. The interior design and equipment are clearly based on the EQS, with MBUX Hyperscreen, automatic comfort doors (front) and rear-axle steering. In terms of noise and vibration comfort (NVH), the EQE is among the best in class. The EQE is available with rear-axle steering as an option. Two versions are available with a steering angle of up to 4.5° and up to 10°. The turning circle is reduced from 12.5 to up to 10.7 metres with 10° rear-axle steering.

The staggered global launch will take place in mid-2022 with production in Bremen, Mercedes largest global production facility.
