Porsche has officially unveiled the Cayenne Electric, a landmark moment not just for the brand, but for electric performance as a whole.
The Cayenne has always been a disruptor. When it debuted in 2002, it redefined what a performance SUV could be. Now, more than 20 years later, it’s doing it again. This time fully electric, unapologetically powerful, and engineered for a world that demands no compromises.
The new Cayenne Electric launches in two models, Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric, both equipped with all-wheel drive and Porsche’s next-generation electronic traction management system.
Porsche have not just electrified the Cayenne, they have supercharged the idea of what an electric SUV can be, providing:
-
Up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) with Launch Control
-
0–62mph in just 2.5 seconds
-
Top speed: 161 mph
-
Up to 398 mile range (WLTP)
-
Up to 600 kW recuperation (Formula E levels of energy recovery)
This isn’t just the most powerful electric Porsche ever,it’s the most powerful production Porsche in history.
The Turbo variant’s rear electric motor even features direct oil cooling, a motorsport-derived innovation that ensures sustained high-output performance. For everyday driving, it still delivers an extraordinary 630 kW (857 PS), with an extra 130 kW of boost available at the press of a button.
Versatility is baked into the Cayenne Electric’s character. Adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management come standard, with optional rear-axle steering and the brand’s new Porsche Active Ride system—technology that keeps body motion almost magically controlled for both comfort and dynamic precision.
The Cayenne Electric is engineered for real-world adventure, with an optional Off-Road package and model-specific design touches that highlight its capability.
Charging
At the heart of the new Cayenne Electric sits a 113 kWh battery engineered for double-sided cooling, enabling outstanding charging performance.
Thanks to its 800-volt architecture:
-
Up to 390 kW DC charging (400 kW under specific conditions)
-
10–80% charge in under 16 minutes
-
Up to 195 - 202 miles of range added in just 10 minutes
And for the first time ever in a Porsche, 11 kW wireless inductive charging, just park, step away, and the Cayenne charges itself.
Design
Porsche’s design philosophy is unmistakable: evolve, never dilute. The Cayenne Electric introduces a refined aesthetic with slimmer Matrix LED headlights, frameless doors, and a sculpted silhouette that balances elegance with aerodynamic purpose.
Key highlights include:
-
A drag coefficient of just 0.25, one of the best in its class
-
Adaptive aerodynamic technology including cooling flaps, an active roof spoiler and Porsche’s new active rear aeroblades
-
Signature Porsche proportions, elevated with bold modern details
Inside, the Cayenne Electric is equally forward-thinking. More space, more comfort, and more personalisation than any Cayenne before it. Rear passengers benefit from an extended wheelbase, and drivers enjoy Porsche’s most immersive digital cockpit yet, built around the new curved Flow Display and optional passenger-side screen.
The new Porsche Driver Experience introduces customisable themes, an AI-powered Voice Pilot, and seamless integration with a wide range of third-party apps. A head-up display with AR technology projects an 87-inch virtual image onto the driver’s view—cutting-edge clarity for every journey.
Smartphone and smartwatch integration has been elevated too, the Porsche Digital Key can be shared with up to seven users.
