Range Rover has officially unveiled the first glimpse of its newest model, the all-electric Range Rover GT.
Joining the existing Range Rover line-up as the fifth member of the family, the Range Rover GT has been designed to combine luxury grand touring with zero-emission electric driving. Featuring a sleek coupé-inspired design, an all-new minimalist interior and built on Jaguar Land Rover's latest electric vehicle platform, it's set to become one of the most anticipated EV launches of 2026.
While the full specification is yet to be revealed, here's everything we know so far.
What is the Range Rover GT?
The Range Rover GT is an all-new luxury electric SUV that takes inspiration from traditional grand touring cars, delivering exceptional long-distance comfort, premium craftsmanship and effortless electric performance.
Unlike previous Range Rover models, the GT has been developed with a stronger focus on on-road refinement, while still retaining the all-weather capability and commanding driving position the Range Rover brand is famous for.
It's also the first fully electric Range Rover to be built on Jaguar Land Rover's new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform.
For buyers looking for a luxury electric SUV that blends comfort, technology and everyday usability, the Range Rover GT could become one of the standout electric vehicles arriving over the next 12 months.
A Sleek New Design
Although Range Rover has only released camouflaged prototype images, it's already clear that the GT adopts a more aerodynamic, coupé-inspired silhouette than it predecessors.
The lower roofline, elegant proportions and smoother bodywork have all been designed to improve efficiency while maintaining the unmistakable Range Rover presence.
Prototype vehicles are currently completing final testing wrapped in a bespoke camouflage pattern inspired by the landscape surrounding Jaguar Land Rover's engineering headquarters in Gaydon.
A New Interior Designed Around Simplicity
One of the biggest changes comes inside.
Range Rover has previewed a completely redesigned cabin that focuses on creating a quieter, calmer and less cluttered driving experience.
Key features include:
-
A new single central touchscreen
-
Digital driver display replacing traditional instrument dials
-
Full-width concealed air vents
-
Premium woven textile dashboard materials
-
Hidden speaker technology
-
Class-leading rear passenger legroom
-
Fewer physical buttons and cleaner dashboard design
The result is an interior that feels more like a modern luxury living space than a traditional vehicle cabin.
This new design philosophy is expected to influence future Range Rover models as the brand continues its move towards electrification.
The First Fully Electric Range Rover
Perhaps the biggest headline is that the GT becomes the first battery electric Range Rover.
Built on the new EMA platform, the Range Rover GT has been engineered from the ground up for electric power, allowing designers to maximise interior space, improve refinement and deliver the smooth, effortless performance electric vehicles are known for.
Initially, the GT will launch exclusively as a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
Luxury Without Compromise
Despite its grand touring focus, Range Rover says the GT will remain every bit as capable as buyers would expect.
The new model has been developed to combine:
-
Luxury electric vehicle comfort
-
Long-distance driving refinement
-
Instant electric performance
-
Premium craftsmanship
-
Everyday practicality
-
Genuine all-terrain capability
It's a combination few manufacturers currently offer in the premium electric SUV market.
Built in Britain
The Range Rover GT will be manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Halewood production facility in the UK, alongside existing petrol, diesel and hybrid models.
As Jaguar Land Rover continues to invest heavily in UK electric vehicle production, the GT represents another major step towards the company's electrified future.
