This new Explorer, a crossover measuring just 2 cm longer than the Focus, is the first of two electric models from Ford built on the Volkswagen MEB architecture.
With a length of nearly 4.46 meters, it sits size-wise between the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 models from which it derives its drivetrain. The single-motor Extended Range version boasts a 282bhp motor paired with a 77kWh battery, delivering an impressive 374-mile range (WLTP).

In terms of practicality, it offers a spacious 530 litres of boot space, expanding to 1422 litres with the seats down. It has a braked towing capacity of 1000 kg and an unbraked capacity of 750 kg.

VW ID.4

The ID.4 is built on Volkswagen's MEB electric platform and offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options, with battery sizes of 52kWh or 77kWh. The base model provides a range of up to 224 miles, while mid-range models reach up to 337 miles, and the performance ID.4 GTX offers 308 miles. Power options range from 146bhp to 295bhp, with a 4Motion variant at 261bhp.
It shares a wheelbase with the ID.3 but is 300mm longer, featuring a spacious 543-liter boot that expands to 1,734 litres with the seats down and practical storage solutions. It features 60/40 split-folding rear seats and a ski hatch for longer items.
The ID.4 emphasizes Volkswagen's shift to cleaner vehicles and is claimed to be carbon-neutral at delivery due to renewable energy use in production.
Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y is a compact SUV that expands on the popularity of the Model 3, providing an impressive range of up to 326 miles on a single charge. Volvo E C40

The Volvo EC40 is a stylish all-electric SUV featuring a streamlined aerodynamic design, similar in size to the Hyundai Kona, BYD Atto 3, and Ford Explorer.
Launched in 2022, alongside side the XC40, this model marked the introduction of the company's first fully electric vehicle line. Initially named the C40 Recharge, it underwent significant updates in 2023 and was rebranded as the EC40 in early 2024.
The EC40 boasts Volvo's first leather-free interior, with the primary upholstery made from naturally renewable wool fibers. An alternative option combines suede textile (crafted from recycled plastic) and microtech material.

Skoda's Enyaq iV represents the brand's first dedicated electric vehicle, utilising the Volkswagen Group's modular electrification toolkit (MEB).
Rather than sticking to traditional trim levels, buyers can select their battery size, interior design, and enhance their vehicle with a variety of equipment packs and individual options.

MG's ZS EV is renowned for its spaciousness, practicality, and an extensive range of safety and driver assistance features, all while being budget-friendly. The newly updated all-electric model boasts a sleek design, improved performance, and an impressive range of up to 273 miles. The ZS is available in two variants: the SE and the Trophy, each offered in standard and long-range options. The standard range ZS comes with a 51kWh battery, providing a range of 198 miles (WLTP), while the long-range model features a 73kWh battery that offers up to 273 miles on a single charge (WLTP).
